I was awarded this bracelet at the gym the other day for having done over 250 sessions there. One would think that with that much energy put into something, I would look AMAZING! Well, depends on your rating scale…
But what it does show is perseverance, as noted. There were MANY times I did NOT want to show up. That I wanted to give up. That I thought “what’s the use?” But, I persisted.
And that is how I feel today. I feel the effects of yet another defeat, after so many have worked so hard for so long. But the interesting thing is, there is not one part of my being that wanted to give up, to say “what’s the use?”. Been there/done that.
When I keep going to exercise, even when I don’t see the results when I want to see them, what I am doing is unconsciously telling myself I am worth it. And when I keep living my life as a strong, capable woman, I am telling the world WE are worth it.
Persevere.
